To Communicate or Wait
One of the first things people wonder, particularly women, is if they should make the first move or should they wait for someone to contact them. In the world offline, it can be expected that the man make the first move but it entirely different online. Everyone on that site is looking for a date and it is expected that someone will contact you. Don’t be afraid to be seen as overly aggressive. It’s ok to make the first move with a short message introducing yourself.
Be Polite
Just because you are safe behind a computer screen, doesn’t mean you should conduct yourself any differently. Communicate as if you were trying to impress someone on a real date. Keep profanity to a minimum if you are trying to make a great first impression. Also, be polite in rejecting someone who contacts you. If you are no longer interested in someone, just politely say so.

There are many types of dating sites online that cater to different niches. There are sites that promote long term relationships and others that cater to people looking for purely sexual relationships. Don’t go on a long term relationship site talking about sexual encounters. That would not be the right site for that.
